The General Manager (GM) is the standard bearer for all these principles and is responsible for all retail operations for their assigned store. The GM’s primary responsibilities are to deliver World Class customer service, set the tone, and lead the crew. The GM is the driving force behind the selling of food through product knowledge, sales engagement, and sampling. The GM has full P&L responsibility for their store. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Managing Systems Ensures that all reporting logs (Manager checklist, Daily Task Lists, Cleaning Lists, among others) are completed accurately and timely Ensures daily Team Huddles are conducted within Marczyk Fine Foods guidelines Manages labor on an hourly basis The GM utilizes company resources to ensure all required training is up to date Holds all employees accountable to Marczyk’s standards and policy. Conducts coaching, counseling and disciplinary measures as needed and documents events the same day Communicates daily to the Management Team as to store, staff and product needs Intimately familiar with all aspects of Denver Health requirements Facilitates bi‑weekly SCRUMMs Team Development The GM conducts performance reviews seeking to develop a highly capable, willing, energetic, and adaptable team GM navigates the business and leads the team calmly through daily activities Demonstrates strong willingness to accept coaching GM assures Marczyk Company Handbook adherence with the entire team GM holds the team accountable to policies and procedures GM facilitates consistent communication and proper documentation to HR regarding any disciplinary actions and/or employee issues Sales and Customer Engagement Everyone gets EGGG’d GM is present on the sales floor for every shift during business hours and engages with customers, observes and impacts the team with great coaching and leadership GM ensures that Marczyk Grocer Basics are adhered to: including but not limited to product shelf tags and signs are 100% present and accurate, shelves are appropriately stocked and merchandised, the store is clean and organized Finds ways to say Yes to customers GM is a master communicator; he/she communicates Marczyk promotional endeavors, sales plans, and appropriate meeting minutes. GM monitors the communication board and keeps it up to date with current topics and important news Positively handles challenging customer situations using our five steps to Make It Right Facilities The GM ensures that the facility is safe, clean, and functional always during each shift The GM monitors equipment and communicates needs with management The GM is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the store and site Qualifications Minimum 2 years’ experience as supervisor in a leadership role 1‑2 years’ experience and demonstrated proficiency with Point‑Of‑Sale or Inventory Management software (ECRS Catapult, preferred) 3‑5 years’ retail experience preferred Basic mathematical proficiency and analytical business skills Develops motivational techniques for sales training, implementation and follow through Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to think outside the box to problem‑solve and troubleshoot when needed Ability and commitment to working a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Occasionally stoops, kneels, balances, reaches, crawls, and crouches while performing work duties in an office, grocery, and outdoor setting Required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Benefits Competitive wages Generous employee discounts Medical benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) 401(k) retirement plan with Employer Match Paid vacation + sick time FAMLI Leave per guidelines Employee referral cash bonuses Company Sponsored Employee Events & Memberships Salary Range: $80K to $95+ DOE #J-18808-Ljbffr Marczyk Fine Foods
