Position Overview

This is not a traditional transactional HR role.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and can assess organizational challenges, identify opportunities, and help implement practical solutions. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor and hands-on partner who combines business acumen, operational execution, and strong relationship-building skills to support how organizations attract, engage, develop, and retain their teams.

As an HR Business Partner, you will partner with business leaders to support organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, leadership capability, and employee engagement.

This is a remote position, but travel will be required to visit centers within the Southeast region. Candidates must be located on the Eastern Seaboard and within the Eastern time zone.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to align HR plans and priorities with business objectives
• Supports multi-site and multi-state hospitals
• Serve as a trusted advisor to regional and executive leaders, translating business priorities into people strategies.
• Use workforce analytics to improve retention, leader effectiveness, engagement, labor productivity, and compliance outcomes.
• Assess organizational needs and identify gaps related to compliance, structure, leadership effectiveness, and team engagement; recommend solutions in partnership with HR leadership
• Lead regional HR initiatives and cross-functional change efforts from design through adoption
• Provide practical HR guidance and hands-on support across a broad range of HR initiatives
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, engagement, retention, and offboarding.
• Support enterprise and regional initiatives that drive operational growth and organizational performance
• Navigate ambiguity with confidence and help support evolving environments
• Use workforce data, trends, and analytics to inform decision-making and business outcomes
• Manage complex employee relations matters with sound judgment and professionalism
• Support change management initiatives and help leaders communicate and implement organizational change
• Travel to PetVet Care Centers locations within designated regions as needed
• Maintain flexibility to support business and operational needs across multiple time zones and locations

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• 6–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience with demonstrated business partnership capability
• Experience within healthcare, veterinary care, or other multi-site operational environments strongly preferred
• Ability to influence and advise leaders at multiple levels of the organization
• Experience managing sensitive employee relations matters with guidance as needed
• Demonstrated ability to balance sound judgment with execution and operational follow-through
• High level of adaptability and ability to establish credibility in diverse environments
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience leveraging AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve efficiency and productivity

Pay Range

$130,000—$145,000 USD
