Retail Lending Closer Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid – Partially Remote); (optional locations: Cheviot, OH and Greensburg, IN)Duration: 6-Month ContractIncrease your chances of reaching the interview stage by reading the complete job description and applying promptly.Position OverviewThe Retail Lending Closer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating consumer and mortgage loan closing packages to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and on-time funding. This role partners closely with lending, underwriting, and compliance teams to resolve documentation issues and ensure all due-diligence requirements are met prior to closing.This position plays a critical role in supporting retail mortgage operations and ensuring a smooth, compliant closing experience for all parties involved.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and finalize consumer and mortgage loan closing documentation in accordance with regulatory, investor, and internal policy requirementsReview loan approvals, supporting documentation, and system data to confirm TRID and due-diligence requirements are satisfied prior to closingGenerate and review HUD-1 / Closing Disclosure statements to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherenceSend closing instructions and coordinate with internal lending partners to resolve documentation deficiencies prior to scheduled closingsPrepare all required disclosures and closing documents using loan origination systemsVerify underwriting and funding conditions have been satisfied and properly approvedObtain and validate all required documentation to support closing and disbursement of fundsMaintain clear, timely communication with internal teams and external parties throughout the closing processEnsure all activities align with applicable state and federal banking regulationsRequired Qualifications1–2+ years of experience in consumer lending, mortgage closing, or consumer banking operationsHands-on experience using Encompass (required)Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple files simultaneouslyExcellent written, verbal, and customer service communication skillsProficiency with loan industry systems and standard office softwareStrong mathematical and analytical skills to ensure document and funding accuracyPreferred Skills & AttributesStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate documentation and closing challengesEffective time-management and organizational skillsAdaptability and willingness to learn new systems, processes, and regulationsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teamsWork Environment & IndependencePerforms recurring operational tasks with moderate complexityApplies standardized rules, procedures, and regulatory requirementsExercises limited independent judgment within established guidelinesInteracts with internal and external stakeholders to exchange operational informationNo direct supervisory responsibilitiesEight Eleven Group (DBA Calculated Hire) provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.ABOUT EIGHT ELEVEN:At Eight Eleven, our business is people.
