Software Test EngineerCACI is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support our client in Chantilly, VA. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, driving quality, and collaborating with a supportive and growth-minded team.As a Software Test Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality. Additionally, you will evaluate complex test specifications, analyze results, and drive corrective actions to ensure that products meet both technical and contractual requirements. Your role will involve determining optimal testing strategies for sophisticated systems, identifying product characteristics that enhance testability, and integrating customer requirements into practical system-level test solutions. This position demands a deep understanding of software development processes, testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applicationsExecute manual and automated tests to verify software functionality, performance, and securityIdentify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking toolsCollaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve software defectsPerform regression testing to ensure that new changes do not adversely affect existing functionalityContribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and toolsParticipate in project meetings and contribute to project planning and risk assessmentStay current with industry trends and best practices in software testingDemonstrate advanced technical expertise and provide leadership in testing projectsAct as a subject matter expert in testing methodologies and toolsMentor and guide junior team membersEngage in client interactions and presentationsQualifications:Required:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 7 years of experience in software testing, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality test resultsStrong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG)Experience with both manual and automated testingExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience with Section 508 standards, which map directly to WCAG 2.0 Level A and Level AA Success CriteriaExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologiesExperience with Security testingExperience with JIRA/MS TFSDesired:ISTQB Certified Tester or equivalentExperience with JAWSExperience with ZAP (security testing)Experience with Roo CodeKnowledge of DevOps practices and toolsExperience in testing web applications, mobile applications, or cloud-based servicesProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automationFamiliarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)What You Can Expect:A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
