About the Role:

The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and engaged volunteer community that supports the organization's mission and programs. This position is responsible for the strategic recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared and motivated to contribute effectively. The coordinator will develop and implement outreach initiatives to build strong relationships within the community and expand the volunteer base. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with various departments to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals and fundraising activities. Ultimately, the Volunteer Coordinator ensures a seamless volunteer experience that maximizes impact and promotes community development.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in volunteer management or coordination, preferably within a nonprofit or community organization.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including public speaking and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and retain volunteers effectively.
• Familiarity with fundraising principles and community outreach strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with volunteer management software and database systems.
• Background in social services or community development programs.
• Certification in Volunteer Management or related professional development courses.
• Experience organizing large-scale community events or fundraising campaigns.
• Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse cultural communities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategies to attract diverse and committed individuals.
• Design and facilitate training programs that equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles.
• Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and communications to ensure efficient deployment and engagement.
• Coordinate community outreach efforts to raise awareness about volunteer opportunities and the organization's mission.
• Collaborate with fundraising teams to integrate volunteer activities with fundraising campaigns and events.
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and contributions for reporting and recognition purposes.
• Provide ongoing support and motivation to volunteers, addressing concerns and fostering a positive environment.
• Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition programs to celebrate contributions and encourage retention.
