Details Cardiac telemetry unit with 36 private rooms serving young adult through geriatric patients Priority admission for patients requiring medical cardiac care or recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant Also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00) Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS preferred) Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred Epic charting experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery care, including sheath removal Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips Experience managing vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA Wound care and isolation precautions/PPE experience Additional Information Provide telemetry-level nursing care to cardiac patients including monitoring, medication management, and post-procedural care Not accepted if residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation No travel pairs or groups accepted First-time travelers will not be considered for this role American Traveler Job ID P-750791.
