The Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and distributing supplies, managing inventory control systems, and ensuring essential materials are available to support OMI's mission.

Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, organized, and committed to accuracy and follow-through. The successful candidate will have experience working with inventory systems, data entry, receiving processes, and administrative documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, autopsy-related language, or healthcare inventory processes is helpful but not required.

This is a highly active and physically demanding position requiring frequent movement throughout the facility, regular standing and walking, lifting, carrying, and relocating inventory and supplies. The position requires the ability to safely handle materials weighing in excess of 50 pounds, including moving, stocking, organizing, and transporting inventory items as needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable performing hands-on inventory duties in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

The Inventory Control Coordinator must also be able to work in an environment where exposure to graphic sights, strong odors, and sensitive circumstances related to forensic investigations may occur. Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work effectively in an emotionally challenging environment are essential.

OMI is a 24/7 operation. This position may require work on weekends, holidays, and nontraditional schedules to support the needs of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control procedures. Ability to receive, inspect, stock, organize, and distribute supplies and equipment. Ability to reconcile physical inventory counts with system records and reports. Experience with database management and inventory tracking systems. Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and solve problems. Ability to prepare routine administrative documentation and reports. Clerical, word processing, and general office skills. Knowledge of purchasing and university invoicing procedures preferred. Ability to safely perform physical job duties, including frequent lifting, carrying, and moving inventory items weighing 50+ pounds. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
