Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Location: Minneapolis - 4 days/week on site (WFH Friday) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Pay Rate: $80-$90K/Annually - 15 days PTO - Free Parking Day to Day: An employer is looking for a highly skilled Real Estate Accountant to join one of our largest national general contractor clients for a hybrid opportunity. In this role you'll join a growing team and work to support their real estate properties division to complete accounting tasks like general ledger and account reconciliation. Any prior experience with fixed assets and property specific accounting will help you be successful on this team. This team goes on site 4 days/week Mon - Thurs and works from home on Fridays. Their location is in downtown Minneapolis; therefore you must be comfortable commuting to downtown Minneapolis and working within a hybrid environment in order to be successful on this team. Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements. Generate monthly accruals and adjust journal entries. Perform multiple monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations. Conduct analytical review of the General Ledger. Track Capital Projects, calculate useful lives, and manage book value from work in progress to placement into service. Prepare and file recurring sales tax (monthly, quarterly, or annually). Prepare annual budgets, reforecasts, and year-end operating expense reconciliations. Support annual tax file preparation and financial audits. Research open accounting issues, identify potential conflicts, and take corrective action to minimize risks. Adhere to Client Accounting Policies and Procedures to ensure consistent fulfillment of internal and external reporting requirements. Undertake special projects and other tasks based on workload demands. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or business related field of study. 3+ years of experience in professional-level accounting. Experience in financial statement preparation and general ledger account reconciliation. Experience with fixed assets. Prior experience with property accounting. Plusses: Proficient experience with Yardi, MRI, and/or JDE E1 software. Working knowledge of Excel. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Strong work ethic & high attention to detail.
