The Barista provides first class service to our guests with every crafted drink and food product, ensuring the guest's experience is top priority. The passion for coffee, creating inspiring drinks and Barista's knowledge of the Cafe ensures that guests are delighted by the beverages and food served and look forward to coming into the Cafe again and again.

Barista Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned:

• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, frappes and more.
• Promotes coffee and tea consumption by educating guests; selling coffee and tea, coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee and tea drinks, along with pastries, cookies, and sandwiches
• Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing supply and rotating stock; coffee beans, tea leaves, syrup bottles, pastries, cookies, muffins in various storage locations. Ensures food is kept at proper storage temperatures, covered and marked as appropriate.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accurate charges, returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
• Preserves supplies inventory by checking stock, informing management of needed supplies.
• Cultivates a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations, knowing that cleanliness encompasses all aspects of the guest experience.
• Maintains or exceeds standards of personal appearance, grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene. This includes wearing proper uniform at all times while working.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Lead Manager or assigned supervisor.

Barista Qualifications and Skills:

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

• Regularly stand and walk for eight to ten hours; climb sets of stairs repetitively throughout shift; occasionally required to sit, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Consistently reach shoulder level, above head and below waist; push, pull, lift and carry five (5) pounds including up flights of stairs, occasionally lift excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
• Must be able to work in environmental exposure to low or high volume noise, cold, heat, water, and cleaning materials.
• Passible understanding of English Language, writing skills and basic mathematics.
