Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Civil Litigation Associate AttorneyDirect Counsel has partnered with a prestigious law firm that specializes in subrogation. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a range of civil litigation matters from inception through trial, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled litigator to gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative and client-focused environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters independently and in collaboration with senior attorneysConduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memorandaRepresent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and depositionsDevelop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clientsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnessesParticipate in settlement negotiations and prepare trial materialsEnsure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and internal proceduresMaintain accurate and organized case files and billing recordsQualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolActive bar membership in California2+ years of civil litigation experience requiredStrong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independentlyCommitment to professionalism, ethics, and client servicePreferred Experience:Familiarity with SubrogationBenefits:Competitive salary ($150k-180k) and very generous bonus structuresHealth, dental, and vision, disability insurance, long term care401(k)Paid time off and holidaysCollegial environment with opportunities for practice growth and promotion
