About the Position

Diagnoses and cases include orthopedic, spine, general, eyes, and plastics. Manager seeks flexible candidates to meet scheduling needs. Weekend coverage is included in call requirements. Call includes one weekday and two 24-hour weekend shifts within a six-week schedule at a minimum. Floating may occur within the facility/scope of practice as needed. Travelers are expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. If one major holiday occurs, the traveler is expected to work it. For two major holidays, the traveler will work both. If three major holidays occur, the traveler must work two of the holidays. Compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, the start may be pushed back two weeks due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Minimum experience required is one year; first-time travelers are welcome. The unit requires skills in administering blood products, general OR procedures, and infection control among others. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census averages eight cases with six operating rooms. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy among others. Candidates must complete core onboarding items within 48 hours of the contract signing. All compliance documents are due prior to the start date. Modules are to be completed during orientation.
