Central Intake Coordinator

Position Overview As our Central Intake Coordinator, you will perform intake functions of all referrals as designated by the hospital assignment, including submitting insurance benefit verifications and prior authorizations. You will approve or elevate referrals based on clinical or financial capabilities and collaborate with multiple referral sources such as hospital systems, case managers and other leadership teams. Roles and Responsibilities Monitor hospital portals for new referrals and confirm receipt. Coordinate initial intake and clinical assessment of each referral, categorising status. Communicate referrals to the appropriate liaison for follow‑up. Submit referrals for benefit verification. Document all referrals in the Customer Relationship Management software. Track status updates in the portal (accepted, denied, considering). Escalate yellow‑light referrals to campus clinical support for determination. For non‑Medicare A primary referrals, arrange cost review and send to Divisional Vice President for approval. Assign referrals to appropriate campuses based on payer source and bed availability. Support sales throughout the initial referral process. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Associate Degree Experience: 3‑5 years Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and maintain verbal and written communication with co‑workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and business associates.
