Board Member: Treasurer

The Treasurer is a steward of YBF's financial health and integrity. This role is about helping us build sound financial practices from the start, so that as we grow, our foundation is solid. We are looking for someone who is as excited about building systems as they are about overseeing them.

WHAT THIS ROLE INVOLVES

• Reviewing monthly financial statements and maintaining an accurate picture of the organization's finances
• Presenting financial reports at board meetings in a way that is clear and accessible to all members
• Supporting budget development alongside the Executive Director
• Helping establish financial policies, internal controls, and bookkeeping practices as the organization grows
• Coordinating annual tax filings (990) with an accountant or bookkeeper
• Providing guidance on grant budgets and financial reporting to funders

WHO THIS IS A GOOD FIT FOR

• Someone with a background in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or nonprofit financial management
• Comfortable reading financial statements and translating numbers for a non-finance audience
• Excited about building infrastructure, not just maintaining it — this role will help create the systems, not just report on them
• Deeply trustworthy, transparent, and aligned with YBF's values of community care and accountability

Time commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours per month, with slightly more time during budget season and annual filings.
