Travel Emergency Nurse (RN) in Northport, AL

Work in a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center that treats over 60,000 patients annually. This role guarantees exposure to fast-paced, high-acuity cases, fostering professional development through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and immersion in emergency care best practices. Floating to other units and hospitals will broaden your scope, enhance adaptability, and strengthen your leadership qualities.


Schedule/Hours:

• Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week
• Holidays required as scheduled
• Every other weekend required

Key Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact state (Temp licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 18 months recent experience (with at least 1 year in Emergency Room nursing)
• Certifications required: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS or Red Cross equivalent, NIHSS, TNCC, SECURE (on-site)
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert care to a diverse patient population in a 54-bed Emergency Department
• Maintain vigilant patient assessment and critical care, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 for critical/trauma and 1:3-4 for other cases
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff
• Adhere to safety protocols and support high standards of clinical practice within the trauma and stroke center
