Product Support Engineer

Overview Trane Technologies is a world leader in sustainable climate solutions. The Product Support Engineer – Airside Product Support team will enable sales of Airside products through knowledge sharing, problem‑solving, and innovative decision‑making. Work Schedule & Location Mon–Thu onsite at the assigned facility (Columbia, SC or Lexington, KY). Fri flexible – choose onsite or remote. The role requires a minimum of 3 days in‑person each week. Responsibilities Engage as a trusted partner with Trane account managers and the Airside Product Growth Team. Act as a subject‑matter expert in technical and application knowledge of Airside products, continuously improving knowledge. Collaborate with internal/external customers on technical product understanding, specification and BOM review, pricing questions, and design options. Respond to internal product support requests via email and phone using Zendesk. Support testing and improvement of the equipment selection system, TraneSelectAssist. Participate in customer visit process at the Columbia facility, providing direct support or hosting duties. Partner with senior Product Support team members and Product Management to deliver sales‑channel training, provide voice of customer for portfolio strategy, support NPD, margin expansion, and VAVE projects. Leverage Lean thinking and project‑management skills to support continuous improvement, including Managing for Weekly Improvement (MWIs) reviews and problem‑solving. Learn product‑management strategies and operational frameworks as foundation for career growth into product management, operations or engineering. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field. 1–2 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing sectors (product management, engineering, marketing/sales, field support, manufacturing operations, or technical internships). Tactful and assertive leadership skills to interact with account managers, sales assistants, and customers. Effective decision‑making in time‑sensitive situations. Ability to recognize developing situations, diffuse potential problems, and mediate between internal and external stakeholders. Strong organization skills and flexibility to handle multiple tasks and projects. Knowledge of HVAC or similar products is beneficial but not required; product training will be provided. Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary range: $66,816.66 – $93,309.99. Benefits start DayOne, including health insurance and wellness programs. 401(k) match up to 8% of pay.
