Banner Fort Collins Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - PACU to join our dynamic Surgical Services team. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative experience. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the broader surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes for every patient. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after surgical procedures Serve as the patient advocate throughout the perioperative process Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient care activities Communicate effectively with the surgical team, patients, and families Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Float to the Loveland Campus OR as operationally needed Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Colorado (or compact state eligibility) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required or must obtain within a defined timeframe Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment Preferred Qualifications Operating Room experience strongly preferred CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred Experience with a variety of surgical specialtie Why Banner Fort Collins Medical Center? POSITION SUMMARY This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy. 2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input.
