About This Role The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive nursing care for patients using the nursing process. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in a collaborative environment and are dedicated to patient-centered care. Highlights Location: Staten Island, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-Time What You'll Do Assess the patient’s physiologic health status. Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures. Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition. Assess level of pain and pain management. Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care. Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations. Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes. Identify actual/potential patient problems. Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities to achieve expected outcomes. Requirements Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty. Licenses & Certifications Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. BLS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
