Boyer Children's Clinic is currently seeking a Full-Time Intake Specialist to join our team! The Intake Specialist supports families throughout the intake process for the Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program. Working closely with Boyer's referral team and multidisciplinary intake providers, this position gathers and interprets medical and developmental information, helps determine program eligibility, and guides families from initial referral through intake completion and enrollment. This role is well suited for a collaborative professional who can combine thoughtful family engagement, strong assessment and documentation skills, and effective coordination across clinical, educational, and community partners. What You'll Do Intake Coordination and Assessment Partner with the referral team to review and process new ESIT referrals. Collect, review, and interpret medical and developmental histories for newly referred children. Identify qualifying medical diagnoses that may establish eligibility for ESIT services. Administer developmental assessments in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, educators, and nurses, to determine program eligibility and establish developmental baselines. Documentation and Enrollment Complete comprehensive intake assessment reports that accurately reflect each child's medical history and developmental status. Educate families about the ESIT program, available services, and eligibility requirements. Guide families through the enrollment process for eligible children. Care Coordination and Family Support Provide a warm handoff to the assigned ESIT multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care. Build collaborative relationships with community providers to support referrals, care coordination, and access to services. Program Development and Special Projects Participate in or lead intake-related projects designed to improve services, processes, or outcomes for children and families. Contribute to health-related initiatives or grant-funded projects that enhance staff well-being and family support. Support the development and implementation of specialized intake pathways for targeted populations, including children with specific developmental conditions or needs. Perform other duties as assigned to support Intake Department operations and organizational goals. Position Requirements Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience pathways: Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, a related healthcare field, Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), or Inclusive Early Childhood Education (IECE). Candidates with a healthcare-related degree must possess and maintain an applicable renewable Washington State Department of Health license, such as Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (DPT), Occupational Therapist (MSOT or OTD), or Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC‑SLP). No prior experience is required when these educational requirements are met. Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Child and Family Studies, Elementary Education, Child or Developmental Psychology, Special Education, or a closely related field, with coursework in child development, family systems, evaluation and assessment, and curriculum development or intervention strategies. No prior experience is required when the specified coursework is met. If the coursework requirements are not met, four years of prior work experience with children from birth to age five with delays and disabilities, and their families, is required. Certifications and Licenses Current First Aid and CPR certifications are required. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License, automobile insurance, and a reliable means of transportation. Required Abilities and Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with clinical documentation and maintaining patient records in an electronic medical record environment. Ability to earn trust quickly while maintaining a focus on regulatory compliance and Boyer's mission. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of families and navigate barriers that might otherwise prevent access to ESIT services. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish effective working relationships throughout the agency and with families, interpreters, community providers, and other programs serving Boyer families. Ability to pass a Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check. Ability to travel within Boyer's Seattle service area to meet with families in their homes and to travel between Boyer locations, appointments, and community meetings as needed. Working at Boyer At Boyer Children's Clinic, you'll join a multidisciplinary team united by a shared commitment to children and families. You'll work closely with referral staff, educators, therapists, nurses, and community providers to help families experience a clear, coordinated, and supportive transition into services. This position works in typical office and clinic environments and includes regular travel to family homes, appointments, and Boyer locations in Seattle. The role requires regular computer use and sitting or standing, as well as the ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
