PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) (PART TIME)

We are hiring immediately for part‑time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) positions at Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company. Schedule: Part‑time, 12‑hour shifts (days and hours may vary; details discussed during interview). Pay: $15.45 to $16.00 per hour. Job Summary Patient Dining Associates support patient nutrition services by helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They work within the caregiving team to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, delivering accurate meals at the right time and temperature. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions. Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, or additional selection inquiries. Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times. Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO requirements, and adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined by HIPAA. Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down patient tray lines. Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures. Assist dietitians, such as monitoring patients who cannot eat food orally, are on liquid diets, or have specific calorie counts to manage. Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures. Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures. Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, and department sanitation procedures. Perform other duties assigned. Qualifications Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English. Basic computer and mathematical skills. Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.
