Responsibilities Perform telephone triage, including assessment, screening, and clinical advice; direct patient care including injections, patient education, documentation with follow up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments, and other duties as assigned. Provide functional supervision to allied health staff. Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care. Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources, including UMH policies and protocols. Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care for optimal patient outcomes. Independently and completely performs focused assessment to provide best practice patient care for patients and families as appropriate. Actively participate and support performance improvement activities related to self, clinic, department, and institutional goals and objectives. Assist in orientation of team members as appropriate, including observation and participation of patient care activities. Other responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN). Three (3) years out of the last five (5) years of RN experience in an inpatient adult pulmonary unit or outpatient adult pulmonary clinic. Proficiency with MiChart inbasket management and documentation of patient encounters in electronic health record, e.g., Epic as indicated by interviews, references, and/or performance evaluations in past 2 out of 3 years of RN experience. Experience providing patient/family education in past 3 out of 5 years of RN experience. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by interviews, evaluations, and references in past 3 out of 5 years of RN experience. Desired Qualifications One (1) year out of the last three (3) years of RN experience with telehealth and phone triage nursing. BSN. Why Join Michigan Medicine? Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F. Flexibility is required. Location: Taubman Center, with potential to work in other offsite locations. All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
