Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Personal Injury Attorney role based in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. The attorney will manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including investigating claims, gathering evidence, interviewing clients and witnesses, and assessing liability and damages. Daily responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, demand letters, and settlement proposals, as well as negotiating with insurance companies and opposing counsel. The role involves regular court appearances, mediations, and depositions, along with maintaining detailed case files, meeting deadlines, and ensuring clients are informed and supported throughout the process. The attorney will collaborate with other firm attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver high-quality, client-centered representation. Qualifications Active license to practice law in South Carolina and in good standing with the state bar. Demonstrated experience in personal injury or civil litigation, including case management and trial or mediation practice. Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, persuasive pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Effective negotiation, advocacy, and courtroom skills, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients. Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible terms. High level of professionalism, ethics, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive matters. Ability to work on-site, manage multiple cases and deadlines, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary legal team. Prior experience with personal injury, insurance claims, or tort law is strongly preferred.
