Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Texas

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Austin, Texas

Schedule: 13-week contract, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, rotating weekends, no on-call requirements

Highlights:

• Comprehensive emergency department with 48 private rooms, plus fast track and behavioral health units
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for general ED, 1:5 for behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma cases
• Work with state-of-the-art equipment including Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
• MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Diverse case mix including trauma, cardiac, behavioral health, and fast track patients
• Active unit-based council and social committee promoting team engagement

Requirements:

• Current Texas RN license or compact state licensure
• BLS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Emergency department experience required; trauma and inpatient holding experience preferred
• MEDITECH experience preferred
• CPI certification is a plus
• Procedures include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma resuscitation, central line assistance, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, morgan lens application, and rapid infusion therapy
