GTM Engineer
Expo, Inc
We're looking for a GTM Engineer who is, above all, a builder who ships: technically deep, AI-fluent, and happiest turning a real business problem into working software. Over the past year we've shipped AI agents that already run real parts of our business, from account scoring to marketing and revenue intelligence, and that's just the start. You'll own that portfolio and grow it, working with every department at Expo: sit with sales, marketing, product, and any team with a hard problem, understand what's really going on underneath the request, then automate and build the solution, week after week. This is not a CRM admin position; you'll be measured by what you build and what it does for the business. Along the way you'll help shape how AI accelerates every part of the company. GTM Engineering is an emerging discipline, and you'll get to define what it looks like at Expo. Own the agent portfolio: You'll inherit a live set of AI agents and automations already doing real work across our self-serve database, marketing, and revenue data. Keep them reliable and easy for the team to depend on, and constantly improve them: better accuracy, broader coverage, more impact. Build AI agents and workflows that replace manual GTM work: Account research, lead routing, outbound personalization, forecasting support. Take fuzzy business problems and turn them into shipped systems using LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI) and modern agent tooling. Partner with leaders across Expo: Embed with sales and marketing, sit in their calls, and dig past the surface request to the deeper problem. Then automate it: ship the solution fast, and make every release a power-up to the whole team. Work with the product team: Expo is a product-led company, and the best GTM systems start with what developers actually do in the product. Partner with product and engineering to bring usage data and product signals into the GTM engine, and feed what you learn from customers back into the product roadmap. Own the integration layer: Connect HubSpot, BigQuery, Stripe, Slack, and our ad platforms via APIs and webhooks. Design for data quality (validation, dedup, and governance) so the systems downstream can be trusted. Build scalable, secure systems: These systems run on their own and touch customer data. Design them to scale as Expo grows, handle credentials and customer data responsibly, and hold the same bar for security and privacy as our product engineering team. Operationalize signals: Turn product usage, enrichment data, and buying signals into scoring, routing, and lifecycle automation so the right account reaches the right person at the right time. Measure business impact: Instrument what you build and tie it to pipeline, conversion, win rate, and rep productivity, not activity metrics. Double down on what works and shut off what doesn't work. Make buy-vs-build calls: Know when to reach for an off-the-shelf tool and when to build custom, and evolve the stack deliberately. Write it down: Documentation and clear writing matter a lot in this role. Everything you ship comes with docs: what it does, how it works, and how to fix it, so the team can understand, use, and trust what you built without you in the room. Champion AI across Expo: Publish playbooks, enable non-technical teammates, and pitch new AI plays unprompted. You're a practitioner‑evangelist for AI‑native GTM. 3-5 years in GTM engineering, RevOps, marketing/sales operations, growth engineering, or software engineering with GTM knowledge Daily fluency with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex): you can ship a working automation the same day you started it Experience building with LLM APIs and agents (prompting, tool use, evals): you know the difference between a demo and something you'd trust in production SQL plus a scripting language (Python or TypeScript): you pull your own data Hands‑on CRM depth: HubSpot workflows, data model, and APIs (or equivalent Salesforce experience) High ownership in ambiguity: you'd rather ship a good v0 in weeks than a perfect one that never ships Clay, n8n, Zapier, or similar enrichment and workflow tooling MCP or agent SDK experience (Claude Agent SDK or similar) Data warehouse modeling (BigQuery, dbt) You've shipped AI agents that moved an actual revenue metric, not just demos Background in developer tools or product‑led growth Has prior RevOps experience in a high‑growth startup You're a builder first: when you see a broken process, your instinct is to make the thing that fixes it, not write a doc about it You listen before you build: you get close to stakeholders, understand the workflow underneath the ask, and solve the real problem instead of the reported one You measure your week by what you shipped, not what you attended You treat go‑to‑market as a software problem and get energy from shipping software that does work a human used to do You're technically savvy and AI savvy: comfortable across code, data, and APIs, and you build with new models and tools in your free time because you can't help it You have real commercial instinct: you can sit in a sales call and immediately see where leverage exists You communicate technical topics clearly with non‑technical stakeholders and bring them along You document what you build so wins propagate instead of living in your head You love working with talented, kind people and hold a high bar for your own work We are a team driven by strong values, and we look for people who embody them: Build developer trust: Be dependable and genuinely help developers find success with our tools. Our reputation with developers is everything. Autonomy: Take an idea, build it, ship it, and own it. We encourage independent ownership of projects - with great freedom comes great responsibility. Flexible primitives: Provide powerful building blocks that offer high control. We strive for flexibility in our product and in our work, avoiding one‑size‑fits‑all solutions. Fast-forward principle: Continuously look for ways to accelerate development for our users without adding unnecessary complexity. Speed and simplicity are core to our philosophy. Make it work, make it right, make it fast: First, deliver functional solutions. Then refine them for correctness and usability. Finally, optimize for performance. We believe in iterating to excellence. Every day, millions of people use apps made with Expo — from public health apps to food delivery apps to dating apps to bitcoin wallets. Great organizations like Brex, Coinbase, Flexport, RBI, SpaceX, and Sweetgreen trust Expo to help them build top‑notch application software in record time. When we make improvements to the Expo libraries and tools, hundreds of thousands of developers benefit and build better software faster for millions of their users. Everyone on the Expo team works on something important because we have a small team and we do a lot of things. We strive to create an environment where everyone is set up to do their best work. Each person on the team has a lot of flexibility and autonomy to work the way that works the best for them. We offer competitive compensation and a supportive environment to help you do your best work: Compensation: Competitive salary + equity package. Retirement: 401(k) plan with company matching - U.S. only. Equipment budget: $6,000 to set up your ideal work setup (laptop, monitor, etc.). Flexible schedule: We care about outcomes, not 9-to-5 hours. Adjust your work schedule to when you’re most productive. Flexible PTO: Take the time you need - employees average about 17 days off per year (in addition to regional holidays). Parental leave: 12-week fully paid parental leave for all new parents. Continuous learning: Annual budget for courses, books, or training to invest in your professional development. Community & Growth: Opportunities to speak at conferences, represent Expo at industry events, and attend regional meetups with the team. Expo is a distributed team that works mostly during North American hours. We are hiring across the United States. You'll learn about our team and we'll learn about you to see where you'd fit in. We'll also discuss your experience and what you're looking for in your next role. Interview with the team You'll meet with a few members of the team to discuss your experience, technical skills, and how you'd approach the role. Typicaly this is done over four 45m video calls that occur over a few days. Once we've decided to move forward, we'll make you an offer. We'll discuss the details of the offer and answer any questions you have. #J-18808-Ljbffr Expo, Inc
