Power BI Developer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Power BI Developer in Westlake, TX. This is a Tech lead role who will be responsible for managing a team of developers and analysts to deliver business value by coordinating with Architects, Analysts and Product owners.

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/similar technical subject area and or equivalent experience
• Experience as a Power BI Developer with a strong portfolio of built reports, dashboards, and visualizations
• Experience with large-scale data visualization
• Hands-on experience working with Snowflake data warehouse, including integration, data modeling, and SQL querying
• Hands-on experience with SQL & Performance Tuning in relation to Snowflake queries; Ability to work with large datasets efficiently
• Extensive experience in Data engineering, Data Modeling and Data analysis
• Experience with CI/CD for BI & Data Pipelines
• Experience with Snowflake-specific features, such as Snowflake data sharing, Snowpipe, or Snowflake Streams
• Strong experience in navigating organization structure
• Strong experience in removing team's blocker
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, etc.) and the ability to design scalable data models
• Conceptual understanding of embedding reports in portal environment
• Knowledge of Power BI governance, security settings, and user access management
• Understanding security roles (RLS) implementation within Power BI
• Understanding best practices and implementation of standards within Power BI reports
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot data or report issues
• Excellent communication skills required
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure in relation to Snowflake
• Proficient in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M Language), Semantic model development and custom visuals
• Hands on Java/Python skills
• Critical thinking and the ability to work in an Agile environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
