Senior Electrical Engineer

In this vital role you will be joining the Facilities & Engineering (F&E) group and collaborate with the capital projects team to ensure projects meet the site standards and requirements. You will steer the projects electrical planning and design and support construction to ensure the projects are built and commissioned to Amgen standards. Execute and guide the commissioning and validation of systems to ensure their operational capability is aligned with requirements and GMP regulation and on-time project delivery. Support execution of engineering and performance qualification runs while providing hypercare support as needed.Work with EHSS in support of electrically related safety initiatives, plans, and investigations. Lead identifying and implementing engineering based improvements or upgrades to process equipment systems. This may include developing business cases for improvements, identifying design requirements, and translating these requirements into process equipment/system design, specifications, and supporting the construction, startup, and validation of equipment.Support delivery of capital projects with responsibilities for electrical design. is a strong collaborative individual contributor leader with these qualifications: **Basic Qualifications:** High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Engineering experience OR Associate degree and 8 years of Engineering experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Engineering experience OR Master's degree and 2 years of Engineering experience OR **Preferred Qualifications:** Strong leadership and collaboration skills, and the ability to approach technical issues with a science based mentality while providing clear direction within the area of expertise.Familiarity and/or experience working in a regulated environment, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries. Knowledge of regulations (e.g. cGMP, building codes, fire codes, electrical codes, IEE, NEC, NETA, insurance – FM, OSHA, LEED, Energy codes) to ensure compliance. Experience in the design and construction for medium voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers and paralleling generators. Knowledge of design and construction for 600V (and below) electrical distribution systems equipment including switchgear, panelboards, lighting / lighting control, power monitoring, generators, Life Safety Systems, and Lightning Protection Systems.Ability to provide direction and guidance to external design firms to deliver capital projects Ability to provide solutions to a large variety of technical problems of moderate to large complexity and scope. Problem-solving skills to apply the application of scientific and engineering theory and calculations and creative skills in the development of hypotheses and approaches.
