Infusion Pharmacy Buyer - IV Therapy and Infusion

Position Summary The Infusion Pharmaceutical Buyer is responsible for delivering superior quality and service by supporting cost‑effective pharmaceutical procurement for the Health First Cancer Institute. The Infusion Pharmaceutical Buyer provides leadership and training to buyers across HFCI and coordinates all pharmacy and admixture purchasing activities to maintain optimal inventory levels. Primary Accountabilities Coordinates daily pharmaceutical purchasing across all locations, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations. Assures optimal inventory levels using historical utilization data, market trends, and contractual agreements. Supports monthly physical inventory counts and validates on‑hand medication accuracy, ensuring accurate reporting to stakeholders. Oversees timely processing of expired, returned, and recalled medications in accordance with regulatory requirements and confirms prompt credit. Prepares and manages weekly operational invoices for payment for the department based on established guidelines with leadership. Conducts research and financial analysis on both a routine basis and for special projects by preparing data into reports and dashboards and responding to inquiries from leadership. Serves as the primary liaison for vendors, fostering and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Maintains integrity of inventory system data and coordinates medication redistribution across sites based on demand. Collaborates proactively with supply chain, internal customers, and vendors to ensure accuracy of purchase orders. Detects and implements appropriate product substitutions to mitigate shortages and optimize cost savings. Recommends process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and overall customer satisfaction. Identifies and resolves issues in the procurement process including backorders, invoice‑match exceptions, etc. Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Work Experience: Five (5) years of technical admixture or pharmacy experience. Licensure: Current State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT). Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Knowledge of inventory management and purchasing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Demonstrated analytical problem‑solving skills. Decision‑making, financial acumen. Preferred Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in relevant field. Work Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in a pharmacy technician role with management and leadership experience. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Experience with a contemporary Enterprise Resource Planning system (e.g., Peoplesoft). Physical Requirements Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping. Long periods of computer time or at a workstation. Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. May be exposed to indoor environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand‑eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined.
