Accountant

Opportunity Overview Accountant position based in Houston, TX. One‑year contract assignment (W‑2). Salary range is $53.00/hr to $58.00/hr, depending on experience. Responsibilities Prepare schedules and journal entries for various agencies and states. Prepare monthly state and federal reports for General Land Office (GLO), Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR), Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), Commissioner of Land Office (CLO), and Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). Maintain severance tax rates and new setups within the ERP system. Record severance tax reimbursements related to marketing fee adjustments. Calculate and process owner interest payments. Assist with owner inquiries. Develop cross‑departmental relationships to ensure information flow. Qualifications Minimum 4‑year accounting degree. At least 15 years of experience preparing financial schedules and journal entries. Experience maintaining tax rates and configurations within an ERP system.
