Gynecology Physician

Position Overview Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center seeks board‑certified/board‑eligible OB/GYNs for off‑site gynecology call coverage supporting inpatient and surgical needs. The role is a second‑line escalation and surgical support function partnering closely with on‑site laborists and CNMs. Physicians must be within a 30‑minute call radius for timely, high‑quality care. Core Responsibilities On-Call Gynecology Coverage Inpatient gynecology consults Escalated cases from on‑site laborists/CNMs Urgent and emergent surgical gynecology needs with post‑op management Daily post‑op/inpatient rounding and discharge Maintain 30‑minute response time from notification to hospital arrival Surgical Care Perform urgent/emergent GYN procedures such as: D&C Laparoscopy (ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion, cystectomy) Management of gynecologic hemorrhage Hysterectomy Work with anesthesia, OR teams, and nursing staff to ensure efficient case flow Laborist & CNM Support Serve as backup GYN surgeon for OB hospitalist (laborist) team and CNMs Respond to cases requiring surgical intervention or higher‑acuity management beyond the scope of the on‑site team Assist with cesarean hysterectomy Care Coordination Communicate with patient's primary OBGYN (when applicable) and hospital care teams Ensure appropriate handoff and postop care planning Schedule & Coverage Model Shift‑based call coverage (12‑ or 24‑hour blocks) Off‑site call with required 30‑minute response time Flexible scheduling (weekday, weekend, and/or nights) No routine clinic responsibilities Opportunity to work with OBGYN residents Compensation Structure Flat rate per call shift (rate negotiable and open to keeping your own billing) Malpractice included (claims‑made) with tail coverage Qualifications Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology Active or eligible for Nevada medical license Demonstrated competency in emergent gynecologic surgery Ability to work independently in a hospital‑based setting Strong collaboration with laborist and midwifery teams Preferred Experience Prior hospital‑based or laborist experience Experience managing escalated surgical GYN cases Comfort with rapid operative decision‑making Life in Las Vegas No state income tax Thriving cultural scene: museums, performing arts, downtown Arts District World‑class dining, spas, shopping Outdoor paradise: Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, and more 300+ days of sunshine and mild winters in a welcoming desert climate Join Our Vision We invite you to bring your expertise, compassion, and vision to our new midwifery team.
