Surgical Technologist - Non Certified

Schedule: Variable start/variable stop; no weekends; no holidays; no call

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 24

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of an approved course for OR Surgical Technologists
• Experience: Minimum of one year related experience or training in a clinical setting and surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery facility
• Licensure and Certification: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS); Certified Surgical Technician (CST) preferred
• Ophthalmology skills required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surgical suite, supplies, and equipment for procedures while ensuring environmental safety and infection control standards.
• Assist surgical team members during operative procedures, including passing instruments and preparing specimens for analysis.
• Maintain the integrity of sterile technique and report any breaches in aseptic technique.
• Assist with patient preparation and transfers, ensuring individualized care in collaboration with registered nurses.
• Participate in safety and quality activities, and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Manage inventory effectively and assist in the cleanup and turnover of the operating room.
