Senior AI Engineer

We're partnering with a well-funded, venture-backed AI software company that's building mission-critical AI products for enterprise customers.

They're looking for a Senior Engineer to join the team responsible for their flagship AI product, helping build production-grade AI systems that solve complex, real-world workflows where accuracy, reliability and trust are essential.

This is an opportunity to work on far more than prompt engineering-you'll design, build and scale agentic AI systems that customers depend on every day.

What you'll be working on

• Building and shipping production LLM-powered product features
• Designing agentic workflows capable of solving complex, multi-step business problems
• Improving retrieval, reasoning, orchestration and AI system reliability
• Developing robust RAG pipelines, tool-calling frameworks and evaluation systems
• Partnering closely with product teams and domain experts to translate customer workflows into AI-native experiences
• Building AI systems that perform reliably in production-not just impressive demos
• Investigating AI failure modes and continuously improving model performance and user experience
• Collaborating with platform engineers to improve observability, scalability and reliability

We're looking for someone with

• 5 years of software engineering experience
• Strong backend and/or full-stack engineering fundamentals
• Experience building production software products
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, RAG, workflow orchestration or AI-enabled applications
• Strong product mindset with the ability to solve ambiguous customer problems
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineers, product managers and domain experts
• High ownership and excellent communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience building production LLM applications at scale
• Experience with agent frameworks, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks or tool-calling architectures
• Experience working in regulated or high-trust industries such as financial services, legal technology, compliance or enterprise SaaS
• Experience building AI products around complex document workflows
• Previous startup experience in a fast-paced engineering environment
