What You'll Do

• Administer chemotherapy to adult patient populations, including newly diagnosed leukemia cases
• Monitor patient vital signs and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Manage blood products, IV therapies, central and peripheral lines, and feeding tubes
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention strategies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Document care accurately in EPIC electronic charting system
• Respond to Rapid Response Teams as needed

What You Need

• Valid Ohio RN license with current BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemo Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience, including hematology/oncology
• Proficiency with MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and IV therapy
• Strong commitment to infection control and patient safety
• Preferred: NIHSS certification and experience with PICC line management

About the Assignment

This role is based in a high-acuity medical unit specializing in acute leukemia and hematology. The unit handles complex cases involving blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management. Staffing aims for a 1:4 ratio, with flexibility to accommodate changing patient needs, especially during variable scheduling. Orientation includes classroom training and hands-on preceptorship at the start of the contract.
