Location: Preferred: On-site in Midtown Manhattan, New York City Remote Consideration: Candidates located in Miami-Dade or Broward County, Florida may be considered for remote work, with the expectation of transitioning to a local office environment within the next few months Employment Type: Full-time Position Overview The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for investment funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, external auditors, and fund administrators to deliver timely and accurate financial statements and investor reports. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Support monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounting close processes across multiple investment vehicles, including feeder funds Perform monthly closing activities including fee recalculations, allocation checks, and capital activity reviews Prepare and review fund financial reporting packages and supporting schedules Oversee NAV-related calculations, partner allocations, management fees, and investor capital activity Reconcile bank accounts, cash balances, and investment transactions Manage Accounts Payable processes and coordinate payments with internal teams and external vendors Coordinate with third-party fund administrators to ensure timely and accurate reporting Review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity Assist with annual audits, financial statement preparation, and tax support processes Partner with internal finance, operations, and investment teams on ad hoc reporting and analysis Required Experience/Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5–10 years of fund accounting experience within hedge funds, private equity, asset management, or alternative investments Hedge fund experience strongly preferred Must have direct experience working at an investment fund or fund administrator Prior public accounting / audit experience is highly valued, particularly with exposure to asset management clients Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and fund structures Experience with monthly fund close processes, including capital activity and allocation calculations Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities Experience with Geneva or similar fund accounting systems highly preferred Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams Must be highly independent and comfortable working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred Continuing education in investment accounting or financial reporting is a plus If eligible under the ACA, medical, dental and vision benefits and time off in accordance with local paid sick time laws will be offered.
