Home Inspector

Position Summary A growing national company is seeking individuals to join a team of professional home inspectors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable, and follows our standard process to complete an accurate, thorough quality home inspection and detailed report. Role and Responsibilities Work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods of time. Maintain basic knowledge of residential home systems and elements. Use computer technology skills for report writing and communications. Stay current on latest company initiatives, policies, and procedures; develop advanced technical knowledge in building science. Show punctuality, work independently, and maintain a strong work ethic. Travel to home inspection sites. Inspect residential properties for defects, wood-destroying insect activity, and other required tests. Educate consumers on home operation and potential concerns or repairs. Communicate findings professionally, both verbally and in writing. Produce an accurate and complete home inspection report according to state standards within 12-24 hours of inspection. Keep daily logs, write reports, and take photographs. Use company software to produce home inspection reports. Qualifications and Requirements 2+ years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience. Basic understanding of building codes, laws, and/or government regulations (plus). NC or SC Home Inspector license preferred but not required for hire. Must complete company training to become state licensed. Valid driver’s license. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude. Physically fit to climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
