Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), including every other weekend and holidays as needed. Float required across all facilities.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a diverse patient population including observation patients, respiratory conditions, medical/surgical diagnoses, and end-of-life care. The RN will administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, and support any necessary interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapies.
• Monitor patients' conditions and respond promptly to any changes in status.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care strategies.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC).
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care decisions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; previous charge RN experience preferred.
• Must possess current BLS certification; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
• Current RN license in hand is required.
• Experience with telemetry and EKG interpretation is essential.
