A Construction Inspector I job is available with the City of Fort Worth TPW / Transportation Management ROW division. The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising and participating in inspection of construction projects involving utility installation, material testing, concrete and asphalt paving restoration for conformance with City standards and policies. The ideal candidate should be responsible, dependable, and extremely detail-oriented individual who is willing to learn. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Experience in the interpretation of plans involving Franchise Utility Construction Paving restoration experience, HMAC and Concrete Experience with Directional Drilling (HDD) Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Accela Experience, CRM-Customer Relationship Management System The Construction Inspector I job responsibilities include Inspects product installation and final restoration in a variety of Utility projects for compliance with City standards and policies Establishes and maintain effective working relationships; acting as a liaison between contractors, utilities, and the general public with respect to various construction projects Reviews plans and traffic control for assigned projects prior to inspection Prepares daily inspection route list All utility inspections are entered into Accela and non-inspection activities into CRM Observes work during progress and upon completion finals the project Coordinates construction inspection activities with other city departments Performs routine and final inspections on utility construction projects Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting. Physical Demands Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
