About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Tax to lead the tax function for its growing, multi-entity organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, reporting, and audits across federal, state, and local requirements. This role also involves supporting the tax implications of acquisitions, divestitures, and specialized death care and trust taxation. The Vice President of Tax will be instrumental in leading tax process improvements, controls, and team development, and must have a strong background in multi-entity and tax-exempt organization experience. Key responsibilities for the Vice President of Tax include managing federal and state income tax returns, sales tax, escheat, and property tax filings, as well as leading tax planning, provisions, deferred taxes, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or taxation, a Master’s degree is preferred, and a CPA is required. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive tax experience with supervisory responsibility is necessary, and experience in death care or trust administration is highly preferred. The role demands a professional with a strong knowledge of trust taxation and cemetery/funeral regulations, advanced Excel skills, and excellent analytical and communication abilities. Experience with OneSource, BNA, or CCH is also preferred.
