Medical Lab Scientist - Point of Care Testing

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position, with the potential to extend up to 26 weeks if interested.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7 on/off schedule, 10 hours per day.

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist for Point of Care Testing. This role involves performing various laboratory tasks in support of FSED operations and working collaboratively with clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient testing, including waived and non-waived tests.
• Perform daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on analyzers.
• Process specimens, including ordering tests and preparing send-outs.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure cleanliness of lab surfaces.
• Assist with clerical duties as assigned by the Nursing and Lab Director.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• MUST HAVE full license - no associate degrees.
• Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Technologist (MT) through ASCP.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a hospital laboratory environment.
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC and analyzers including Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Clineteck, and others listed in the job details.
