Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Specialized surgical experience is essential in this dynamic role supporting the operating room team for general OR procedures. The optimal candidate will possess strong knowledge of aseptic technique, be detail-oriented, and capable of anticipating the needs of the surgical team for safe and efficient patient care.

Schedule/Hours:

• Work options: 5x8-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts (end time: 11:30pm; shifts such as 3pm-11:30pm or 1pm-11:30pm)
• On-call rotation: One weekend (Saturday & Sunday) every 3-4 weeks (evening shifts ending at 11:30pm)
• Additional on-call: 1-2 overnight call shifts per week (11:30pm-7am), with scheduled shifts following weekend call as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required
• Demonstrated experience in General OR settings
• Comprehensive knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures
• Proficient with instrument handling, sponge/needle/instrument counts, and scrub techniques
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Effective communication and strong organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain aseptic technique while anticipating surgeon needs throughout surgical procedures
• Set up and organize operative fields, ensuring all items are accounted for and sterile
• Gown and glove surgical team members, assist with draping, and efficiently pass instruments during procedures
• Prepare, care for, and ensure the proper usage of instruments and equipment before, during, and after surgery
• Follow all Infection Control policies and procedures diligently
• Perform specimen handling in compliance with established policies
• Collaborate with and serve as a resource for both experienced and new OR personnel
• Participate in call rotation duties and respond promptly as needed
