Paid Engineering Career Research Interview — $50 for 30 Minutes

Help Shape the Future of Engineering Careers

SolidProfessor is conducting research to better understand how engineering professionals approach career development, technical assessments, professional portfolios, and job-search platforms.

We are inviting engineering design professionals to participate in a 30-minute, one-on-one research interview with a member of our product team. The conversation will take place over Zoom and will be recorded for internal research purposes.

Participants who complete the interview will receive $50 as a thank-you for their time and feedback.

Who We Are Looking For

We want to hear from a broad range of engineering design professionals, including:

• Currently employed professionals who are not actively looking for a new role
• Employed professionals who may be open to new opportunities
• Unemployed or actively searching job seekers
• Students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals
• Mid-career professionals
• Senior and late-career professionals
• Mechanical engineers
• CAD designers and drafters
• Manufacturing, product design, and related engineering professionals

You do not need to be actively applying for jobs to participate.

What We Will Discuss

The interview may include questions about:

• How you search for engineering jobs
• What makes a career platform useful or valuable
• How you evaluate potential employers and job opportunities
• Your experience with technical assessments during the hiring process
• What would motivate you to complete a skills assessment
• How you feel about sharing project work or creating a professional portfolio
• What information helps you feel confident applying for a role
• How employers could better evaluate and understand your skills

There are no right or wrong answers. We are interested in your honest experiences, expectations, and opinions.

Interview Details

• Format: One-on-one Zoom interview
• Length: Approximately 30 minutes
• Compensation: $50 upon completion
• Recording: The conversation will be recorded and reviewed internally by the SolidProfessor product team
• Purpose: Product and market research only
