Accounting Office Manager

Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Upper Marlboro, MD that is seeking an Accounting Office Manager responsible for supporting the daily financial and administrative operations of the organization. Summary: This role oversees bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, payroll support, and financial reporting, while also managing office operations, vendor coordination, and administrative processes. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance accounting responsibilities with office management duties in a fast-paced environment. Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Prepare invoices, process payments, and monitor outstanding balances Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records Assist with month‑end close activities, journal entries, and financial reporting Support payroll processing and maintain employee records as needed Maintain and organize accounting files, contracts, and office documentation Coordinate office operations including supplies, vendors, equipment, and facilities management Answer phones, manage correspondence, and provide administrative support to leadership and staff Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred 3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or office management experience Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and office administration practices Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities Preferred Skills Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems Payroll processing experience Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively Compensation and Benefits The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
