Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Summit, Wisconsin. This position involves working in a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with a focus on adult and pediatric surgical cases. The role includes delivering specialized patient care in a busy surgical environment, supporting various types of procedures such as orthopedic, neuro, general, and ENT surgeries, with a schedule centered around daytime shifts.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license with BLS certification; minimum 0 years of experience; located in Wisconsin or willing to travel to Summit, WI. Experience with adult and pediatric surgical patients, including orthopedic (total joints, femur/tibia rodding), neuro (laminectomies, burr holes), and general surgery cases.
• Preferred Qualifications: AORN certification preferred for RNs; CST certification preferred for Surgical Technicians; CSA certification for Surgical Assistants.
• Skills: Strong experience in orthopedic and neuro procedures; Comfort with surgical assist duties for CSTs and Surgical Assistants; familiarity with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and DaVinci XI robot.
• Support within the Department: Includes a charge nurse with neuro/ortho/general/ENT case experience, educator, hospitalist coverage 24/7, unit secretary, and a dedicated trauma support team available 24/7.
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system, Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis medication dispensers, DaVinci XI robotic surgical system.
• Orientation: One week of orientation with a preceptor, including meetings with an educator.
• Scheduling: On-call rotation with four weekday call shifts per month from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, one full weekend per month, 30-minute response time. OB call coverage after 5:00 PM on weekdays and weekends, in rotation.
• Additional Notes: Scrub color designated as provided; free parking available; travel-friendly unit culture highly appreciated.
