Controller

Overview Seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations across multiple dealerships. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and driving strong internal controls while supporting dealership leadership in achieving financial goals. Core Responsibilities Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements for multiple locations Ensure all financial reporting complies with GAAP standards Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and deal posting Review retail and wholesale deals for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance Monitor deal flow between Finance & Insurance (F&I) and accounting to ensure timely processing Lead and develop accounting staff, including Assistant Controllers, Office Managers, and clerks Provide regular reporting on financial performance, variances, and unposted deals Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes Partner with leadership to analyze financial results and improve profitability Oversee cash management, banking activities, reconciliations, and deposits Assist with audit preparation and coordinate year-end financial reviews Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 3+ years of accounting experience within an automotive dealership environment Strong understanding of dealership accounting and financial reporting Experience with DMS systems (DealerTrack or similar; Tekion a plus) Advanced Excel skills Proven leadership and team management experience Additional Expectations Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Support special projects and evolving business needs as assigned Maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial and data security standards #J-18808-Ljbffr Peyton Resource Group
