Brake Helper Pay Rate and Hours:

• Pay: $20-$23/hour depending on experience
• Hours: Monday-Friday 5pm-5am with mandatory overtime.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake equipment to accurately form sheet metal according to drawings, work orders, and production specifications.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts.

Brake Helper Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake equipment to form metal parts
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, work orders, and bend specifications
• Select and install appropriate tooling for each job
• Determine proper bend sequence, tooling, and machine settings
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
• Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain accuracy and quality
• Work with Brake Helpers to safely stage, position, and move materials
• Maintain accurate production and quality records as required
• Identify quality issues and communicate problems to supervisors or other team members
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements
• Perform routine machine and tooling inspections
• Minimize material waste while maintaining quality and production requirements
• Meet established production goals and deadlines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Brake Helper Qualifications

• Previous press brake operating experience preferred
• Experience working with sheet metal or in a metal fabrication environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Ability to read a tape measure down to a 1/16th accurately
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to safely handle and position metal materials
• Willingness to follow established safety and quality procedures
• Experience with CNC press brakes, CNC controls, or specific equipment such as Accurpress is a plus.

Brake Helper Qualifications

• Manufacturing or metalworking experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to read and follow basic written and verbal instructions
• Ability to read a measuring tape down to a 1/16th.
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Ability to work in a physical manufacturing environment
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials and parts
• Previous experience with sheet metal, brake presses, fabrication, or other manufacturing equipment is a plus
