Position summary

Audits, balances, and reports on the various areas of the hotel (e.g., food and beverage, rooms, front desk, gift shop, etc.) to provide accurate and timely financial information on the hotel’s operational performance for the day. Oversees front office/front desk operations during the overnight shift.

• Ascertain that all charges received for billing are proper and with complete supporting papers and that they have approved credit account with us.
• Ensure that the individual account cards show complete name and address and other pertinent information required when they are typed.
• Balance daily transfer to city ledger and post, edit and update to accounts receivable system.
• Assists in the preparation of correspondence in reference to disputed and questionable accounts
• Process all payments received.
• Ensures correct amount is determined before billing.
• Be familiar with hotel Front Desk Cashiering and hotel guest ledger accounts receivable procedure.
• Ascertains that all charges, rebates and cash are posted to the individual ledger accounts.
• Prints agent report and accounts receivables control report to balance with General Ledger.
• Responsible for compiling monthly age analysis reports in the timely billing of accounts.
• Maintain a filing system for account receivable records.
• Handle correspondence and queries regarding city ledger accounts.
• Assist in the reconciliation of accounts.
• Respond to and resolve account queries.
• Other duties and training as assigned to allow team member to become a well rounded, valued employee. 

• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. 
• Be sure to perform, execute, as well as adjust to other duties as assigned. 

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Previous night audit/accounting experience or equivalent training required. 
• Computer knowledge/Excel and arithmetic skills required. 
• FSD is a plus, required within 90 days of employment.

• Ability to lift files/papers up to 5 lbs. 50% of time. May lift luggage up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
• Have basic math skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills, including excel.
• The ability to follow checklists, and follow written direction.
• Be able to work graveyard shift with little to no supervision.
• Be able to learn about the hotel, its services, and facilities.
• Be able to learn multi-line phone system.
• Must have courteous phone and guest etiquette.
• Good multitasking skills.
• Ability to overcome customer objections through persuasion and providing a variety of options.
• Possess a positive, professional attitude and friendly, service oriented demeanor.
