We maintain and develop accounting principles, practices, and procedures in alignment with headquarters to ensure accurate and timely financial statements to external stakeholders and internal reporting to corporate management, as well as to stay in compliance with regulations. Main responsibilities include general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget and forecast development.OOCL Benefits:As a global company, we offer exceptional career and development opportunities with attractive compensation and benefits including:401k Retirement Plan AND Pension PlanPaid Vacation/PTOMajor HolidaysFloating Personal/Vacation daysPaid separate sick daysMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceReferral bonusesBi-Weekly payAccountant Job Duties:Prepare journal entries, including month-end close and cash management for North American Group companies.Prepare consolidated financials for multiple entities in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting packages to Headquarters.Perform account analysis and prepare account reconciliations.Maintain general ledger accounts and company records.Prepare and support tax-related filings, provisions, and projects.Prepare audit workpapers, internal financial package, and financial statements.Support internal and external audit requests and participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.Provide accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and optimize profitability.Minimum Qualifications for Accountant Position:Bachelor's degree or higher in accountingMust have 2-3 years of accounting experienceCPA license or has current plans to receive it, with the expectation that the candidate will obtain an active CPA license in the near futureKnowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRSExperience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reportingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Skills:Experience with SAP or other ERP systemsKnowledge of financial statement preparation and audit support processesExperience with tax compliance, tax provision, and multistate tax filingsKnowledge of the shipping, logistics, or transportation industryStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracySelf-motivated with the ability to learn independently and adapt to changing business needsStrong time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlinesContinuous improvement mindset with a willingness to identify and implement process enhancementsAll employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.OOCL is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
