IT Specialist

SEEK Careers/Staffing is recruiting for an IT Specialist to support a growing Central Wisconsin company where no two days are the same and you'll work directly alongside an experienced IT Manager.

Position - IT Specialist
Job Location - Wausau, WI
Starting Date - Immediate
Employment Term - Long-Term Temporary with Temp-to-Hire potential after 6-8 months
Employment Type - Full-Time
Work Hours (Shift) - 1st Shift, Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Starting Pay - $21.00-$24.00/hour, based on experience
Benefits - Available through SEEK Careers/Staffing
Required Education - High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or Technical Certification in Information Technology preferred
Required Experience - Previous IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, Technical Support, or IT Specialist experience preferred

Position Summary

SEEK Careers/Staffing is seeking a motivated IT Specialist to support the daily technology needs of a growing manufacturing and distribution company in the Wausau area. Working directly with the IT Manager, this position provides technical support for employees while assisting with hardware, software, networking, printers, website maintenance, and business systems, including an ERP platform. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their IT knowledge while gaining valuable hands-on experience in multiple areas of information technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other office equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
• Assist with user account support and system troubleshooting.
• Support network connectivity and resolve basic networking issues.
• Assist with company website updates and maintenance.
• Help support and troubleshoot the company's ERP system.
• Create, update, and manage IT support tickets and documentation.
• Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and security checks.
• Escalate more complex technical issues to the IT Manager as needed.
• Provide outstanding customer service while supporting employees throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, Technical Support, or a similar IT role.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting printers, peripherals, and office technology.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Website maintenance experience is beneficial but not required.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Professional office environment.
• Frequent computer use throughout the workday.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the office as needed.
• Occasionally lift and move computer equipment or office hardware weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
