Description: CVICU RN for day shift. 36 hours per week. Must have experience with cardiac surgery patients. Will be responsible for immediate post-op care for cardiac surgery patients. 1:1 patient ratio for the first 12 hours post-op. Ventilator management is part of the role. Required to float within the specialty if needed. Floating to lower acuity areas may occur. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holidays may also be required as scheduled. Key skills include arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, and management of ventilated patients. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias is essential. Knowledge of continuous IV sedation and titration of vasoactive drips is required. Experience with special procedures such as CRRT and Impella management is needed. Candidates should be comfortable with infection prevention protocols and managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Candidates must be adaptable to a range of critical care situations. Compliance with all safety and care standards is expected. Skills related to phlebotomy and EKG interpretation are desirable.
