Express Employment is seeking a Manual Machinist to join our client's team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment.
- Manufacture, repair, and modify precision metal components to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling and determine proper speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
- Machine parts to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Previous experience with manual machining equipment and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work safely and independently in an industrial machine shop environment.
- Ability to stand and work around machinery for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience working with manual lathes and mills in a production or job shop environment.
- Knowledge of tooling, metal properties, speeds, feeds, and machining tolerances.
- Experience machining a variety of metals and materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Previous experience performing machine setup and determining appropriate tooling.
- Experience with precision inspection and quality control practices.
