Job Description

CNC Lathe Operator

Davenport, IA | On-Site

Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (1st Shift)

A well-established high-precision job shop in Davenport, IA specializing in complex, one-off and short-run parts is seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join its team. Experience programming or running a 5-Axis Mill and/or live tooling CNC Lathe is a plus.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a high-mix environment where no two jobs are the same and takes pride in craftsmanship and producing high-quality work.

What You’ll Do

Program, set up, and operate 5-axis milling machines and/or live tooling CNC lathes
Work from solid models and complex drawings
Optimize toolpaths for accuracy, efficiency, and surface finish
Select tooling and workholding strategies independently
Inspect your own work to tight tolerances
Contribute ideas to improve processes and reduce cycle time

What We’re Looking For

5+ years CNC experience (5-axis and/or live tooling lathe preferred)
Strong CAM programming skills
Ability to run complex parts with minimal supervision
Experience in a high-mix, short-run job shop environment
Strong understanding of GD&T
Ability to problem-solve and think ahead
High level of accountability and pride in workmanship

Compensation and Benefits

$27–$34+/hour, based on experience

Physical and Work Environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate overhead cranes as needed.
Comfortable standing or sitting for extended periods.
Shop environment includes moderate noise and temperature control.
PPE required: Steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
