Overview In 1963, legendary Florida developer John D. MacArthur and the PGA of America teamed up with golf course architects Dick Wilson and Joe Lee to design a championship-caliber golf facility. Over the next ten years, BallenIsles, then called PGA National Golf Club hosted numerous major tournaments like the PGA Championship and PGA Seniors Championship and was home to the Professional Golfers' Association of America. The Club also was the playing site for the original PGA TOUR Qualifying School and held the inaugural PGA Merchandise Show. In 1988, the three golf courses and surrounding property were sold by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and renamed BallenIsles Country Club. A multi-year and multimillion dollar plan to develop a private country club community was unveiled. Since the early 2000's, BallenIsles Country Club has been consistently ranked as one of the Top 100 Clubs in America.Our East Course was a well-regarded nationally recognized championship course, at the time ranked in the Top 100 in the country. It was so well regarded, in 1971 we did something that has never been repeated and likely never will again. That is why it is a Year to Remember.The Club hosted four major golf events in one year. February 28, 2021 marked 50 years to the day when Jack Nicklaus closed up his wire-to-wire victory in the 1971 PGA Championship. He parred the 18th hole of the East Course to wrap up a two shot victory. Moving forward, BallenIsles Country Club continues to strive to be the premier golf community in the Palm Beaches. We continue to be recognized as the Best of Palm Beach for private clubs. Therefore, we are fortunate to attract some of the best candidates for golf positions. Currently, BallenIsles is a Troon managed facility. As the world's number one golf management company, Troon offers career opportunities far beyond just BallenIsles. Essential Responsibilities Assists in administering all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing. Coordinates with Accounting Departments all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation. Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or under payment. Tracks all force posts and no show charges as applicable. Promotes all club golf activities. Assists in the creation of lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction. Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists retail buyer with procurement and merchandise and shop assistants with merchandising and sales. Prepares for all golf outings including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets and hole assignments. Monitors all members' scores, reports handicapping to USGA and bills members. Follows established opening and closing procedures. Assists with associate training. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as required.
